Aelwyd Hafodwenog
Aelwyd Hafodwenog offers social opportunities for young people between 10 and 30 years old, through the medium of Welsh. The youth Aelwyd (10 to 15 years old) meet every Thursday evening from September to June at Hafodwenog School, Trelech. The senior Aelwyd meet on a Sunday evening from January to June. The Aelwyd has been very fortunate to experience success on a National level over the years in the fields of the arts, including in the folk dancing, clog dancing and choral singing.

Alma Community Centre
Alma Community Centre has been the hub of the Alma community since it was established in 1976. Currently we are applying for grants from various sources to help fund the demolition of the present kitchen and build a new building to house a new kitchen and toilets. Numerous activities take place throughout the year and are suitable for all ages. The following organizations /clubs use the Centre regularly: Merched y Wawr Bro Alma and Alma Shot Mat Bowls Club.
Tea and a Cuppa: On the last Saturday of the month between 2pm and 4pm the community Centre opens it's doors to anyone that finds it difficult to come out at night to socialize over a cuppa
Monthly Whist Drive: On the second Saturday of the month at 7.30pm, a Whist Drive is held. Light refreshments are served half time.

Alma Short Mat Bowls Club
They are members of the Carmarthenshire League and are currently in the first division. They meet on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm at Alma Community Centre, and are currently looking for new members.

Cylch Meithrin Trelech
Cylch Meithrin Telech is a nursery provision that is registered with CSSIW. Welsh is the language of the nursery but welcomes all children in the area no matter what language is spoken at home. The aim of our group is to promote the education and development of children from two years old to school age. There is an opportunity for children to socialize and learn through play led by our professional, friendly and enthusiastic staff.
The Meithrin sessions are held Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm at Trelech Community Centre.

Cylch Ti a Fi (Baby and Toddler Group)
The purpose of the Cylch Ti a Fi is to offer parents and carers an opportunity to meet regularly to enjoy playing with their children and socialise over a cup of tea! The Cylch Ti a Fi provides activities promoting the development of children from birth to school age. It’s a brilliant opportunity for parents/carers to meet to socialise and share experiences in an informal Welsh atmosphere. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy yourself – and don’t worry if you don’t speak Welsh as everyone is welcome at the Cylch Ti a Fi!
Trelech Cylch Ti a Fi meets on a Monday between 12.15pm and 1.45pm at Trelech Community Centre, lunch is provided for the children. There is a small fee of £3 per child (£5 for two children)

Ysgol Hafodwenog is situated in the village of Trelech. Opened in 1972 to serve the agricultural communities of Alma, Bryn Iwan, Cilrhedyn, Dinas, Gelliwen, Pandy, Penybont, Talog and Trelech.

Merched Y Wawr Bro Alma
Merched Y Wawr Bro Alma was formed in September 1986.
Our meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7.30pm, where there is always a welcome to new members. An opportunity to socialise through the medium of Welsh and partake in activities such as craft, flower arranging, cooking, games and enjoy various guest speakers.

Penybont Community Centre
Penybont Community Centre has been a centre for the Penybont community since it was established in 1973. The building comprises of a hall and kitchen with disabled access and toilets. Numerous activities such as quizzes, bingo, coffee mornings etc take place throughout the year and are suitable for all ages. The hall is used regularly by the committee and by Penybont Young Farmers, and occasionally by local groups, organisations and institutes.

Penybont Young Farmers Club
Penybont YFC is a youth movement that provide opportunities for our members between the ages of 10 and 26 years old. We meet on Monday evenings at 7.30pm at Penybont Community Centre between the months of September and May. The YFC is run by young people for young people and offers opportunities and special experiences for the members as they develop new skills, receive valuable training, travel the world, become an integral part of the community and have the opportunity to make friends for life.

St Teilo Parish Church, Penybont
Trelech a'r Betws is the official title of this parish which is located in a rural corner of North West Carmarthenshire. Regular services are held here. The pattern of worship is as follows:
First Sunday in the month: 11.00am. Bilingual Service
Third Sunday: 11.00am. Bilingual Holy Eucharist
Services are conducted in accordance with the Welsh Church Prayer Book of 1984. In addition less formal services are held on special occasions such as Harvest Thanksgiving and at Christmas there is the annual carol service. The parish is served by the Priest-in-charge, Canon Ann Howells who may be contacted by telephone on 01267 468136.
Traditionally Trelech a’r Betws has been a bastion of Welsh Nonconformity. However St Teilo's is a place of worship which offers Bilingual services as well as bilingual, in this respect it seeks to meet the needs of the whole community as a parish church should. You are assured of a warm welcome here as we seek to develop our Christian witness and glorify God in sincere and heartfelt worship.
Trelech Community Centre
A centre for the community of Trelech. The building has been renovated in recent years and today it has a fully fitted modern kitchen, disabled toilets and baby changing facilities. On a weekly basis, Cylch Meithrin Trelech, Trelech Mother and Baby group and a line dancing class meet. The Community Centre is also used on a regular basis by the Chapel and Trelech WI, and occasionally, used by Aelwyd Hafodwenog and Penybont Young Farmers Club. The hall can be hired, for parties and fundraising events etc.

The WI is here to inspire you - The WI is about inspiring women through experiences, knowledge and skills. These are passed down through generations and updated every day.
The WI is everything you want it to be - Whatever your reason for joining, the WI offers all kinds of opportunities to all kinds of women. For some it is a chance to meet people and catch up with friends. For others it is a way to learn new skills and campaign on issues that affect the wider community.
The WI is what you make of it - WIs come in all shapes and sizes and our members can be involved in the way that suits them.
The Women’s Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and to encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation’s aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK. The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.
The Trelech Women’s Institute usually meets at 1.30pm on the second Tuesday of the month.

The William Davies Charity
William Davies, Plasparciau made a will in August 1788, following his death shortly after, William Davies Charity was founded.
The main aim of the charity was to provide education for the poor within the parish, the charity continues today providing a financial donation towards further education and apprenticeship costs.
On an annual basis the trustees award exhibitions for individuals resident within the parish who are entering further education or apprenticeships for a trade.
